Austin Surgery July 2010

My little guy had a minor hernia surgery. No matter how minor it's still very stressful!!! He did awesome and we were able to go home the same day! Riding in the wheelchair was Austin's highlight of the day! He thought it was so COOL!!!

Father's Day June 2010

Today we went up to the Raddon Cabin and spend some time with Grandpa Ray. We are so lucky to have such amazing Fathers in our lives.

We love you!

What an emotional day for me! My parents gave their farewell talks and it is Father's Day. Those who know me know that I am such a boob! I love having my parents around so much and the thought of them leaving for 18 months is a hard one for me! I'm just going to have to suck it up lol!!! I do know that they are going to be amazing missionaries and serve the Lord with all their hearts! I am so proud of them!

Girls on the Run - 5K Race June 2010

Today was the day of our 1st 5k race! Ash finished her 12 week course and 5k training with Girls on the Run. I am one PROUD MAMA!!! She is an amazing young women!!!

My friend Ashlyn ran with my Ashlyn "TEAM ASH". My friend Paige volunteered to run as a running buddy, thanks Paige. My running buddy showed up with her mom so my boy Austin was my running buddy for the race!

Austin surprised me today by running the whole 5k race! I thought I was going to have to do a lot of encouraging to help him finish the race! Was I wrong!!! He ended up encouraging me! He would say . . . mom is that all you got? Mom you got to pick up the pace! When he saw that I was struggling a wee bit at the end of the race he started saying . . . come on mom I know that you can do it, just a little further! Mom I know you have it in you to finish!!! Thanks Aust for showing your mom patience and encouragement. He was so DARN cute . . . I love that boy!

Last Day of School : ) June 2010

Today was the LAST DAY of SCHOOL!

We have a tradition . . . the kids each invite a friend and we head to

ICEBURG for a big O'l SHAKE! Cute Chloe and John joined us!

It was a SUPER HOT day so the SHAKES tasted O so GOOD!!!

Girls on the Run - Running Buddies May 2010

My sister Anne got us involved with an AWESOME program called Girls on the Run! It is a 12 week program to help girls with social situations, communication, body image and health. During this 12 week course they also train for and run a 5 k Race.

Today we did a practice 5k and TEAM ASH finished first with the fastest time of 28 minutes! Notice that her mother has a different running buddy! That is because I can't keep up with my girl! So I called my friend BFF Ashlyn (which my Ash is named after) to be Ashlyn's running buddy that's where TEAM ASH came from. They had a great time together!

Mother's Day May 2010

Ashlyn's Violin Recital May 2010

Ash had her violin concert today and it causes her great anxiety to perform in front of people. This is something that she really wants to overcome. Violin has been great too to help boost her confidence and performing! She memorized her pieces and performed them perfectly!!! I am so proud of her! The bonus is Ash loves to play her violin and adores her teacher Connie!!!

Mom & Dad's Mission Call April 28, 2010

Today my parents opened their mission call!!! As if today wasn't already emotional enough! We had my Grandma Buswell's funeral and then later that day we all gathered around for the official word. YES they are going to Trinidad!!!

I am so excited for them! This is a dream they have had since they were just newlyweds! But to be honest it was just to much emotion for one day! I had just lost both my Grandparents in just 4 months and now I feel like I'm losing my parents! I know that it's just 18 months but I know how hard it is going to be without them! I love having them around! I will miss them like CRAZY!!!

Saying Goodbye to my Grandma Buz April 22, 2010

Today I had arranged to take dinner to my sister Jenny in Layton. She was having a very stressful week and I really wanted to help! Around 1:00 I was pulling out of her driveway when I got a call from my dad. He said that they found my Grandma unconscious and she was at McKay Dee Hospital. She had a massive aneurysm and wouldn't make it through the hour. I was devastated and shocked!!! If fact I probably shouldn't have been driving because I was a wreck! I'm not quit sure how I made it to the hospital!

This whole day was a tender mercy given to me. If I wouldn't have been only 15 minutes away I wouldn't have made it to the hospital to see my Grandma and say my goodbyes!!! I know that I was in the right place at the right time! I am so grateful that I was there at that very moment! It was so hard to see my Grandma in such a state. Just 4 days earlier I was celebrating her Birthday with her! Yet as I walked into the hospital room you could feel a definite peace! It was her time and I know that she was very happy to see my Grandpa and all her family that she loves!

Grandma's funeral was an amazing tribute to her and her life!!! I am so grateful that she was my Grandma and honored to be her Oldest Granddaughter!

Grandma Buswell Turns "89" April 18th 2010

This is a day I will FOREVER treasure!!!

We celebrated with my SWEET Grandma her AMAZING life!!!

As I said goodbye to her that day she put her hands on mine and got close to me looked me in the eye and said I Love You Aimee! I got really choked up and had an overwhelming feeling that this maybe the last time I would see her! All the way home I couldn't get that look in her eye off mine mind. It's as if she was telling me goodbye for the last time. Little did I now!!! I think she new something that I didn't! I will be forever grateful for that wonderful last day I got to spend with her!

Our 15th Anniversary April 2010

15 years and looking forward to many more!

We celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary this year!!! At the last minute I decided I had to do something spontaneous and fun! I had a lot of surprises in store for Rick. First he about flipped when I surprised him with a new road bike! You should have seen his face . . . he was so surprised! It's not easy to surprise Rick because he's always home!!! I then surprised him with a night at the GRAND AMERICA, a massage and dinner! He thought he was going to a business meeting and he found ME instead (LUCKY HIM)!!! He was so shocked and surprised that I pulled it all off without him having a clue!!! Hey you still got to have a little fun even if your not "dating" anymore right!!! The only bummer is that I didn't get a picture of US that night!!!

Ashlyn's Jump Team had the opportunity to perform and hang with Fox 13's

Big Budda at the Grand America Hotel. They were on the morning news.

They helped Big Budda cook a healthy breakfast and educate on the importance of exercise!

Ashlyn is in AMAZING shape! You wouldn't believe the tricks they can do with a jump rope! This was a very fun day!

My Dear Grandma'ma!!!

My Grandma Buswell is "88"! She is still feisty and spunky! She is an AMAZING women and I am so lucky to have her! My Grandpa Buz passed away in December '09 and I know it's been very hard for my sweet Grandma'ma! We miss him like crazy!

I'm so grateful that my kids have had the blessing of getting to know their Great Grandparents! They have lived life to the fullest! I have been given a great gift of their heritage and the legacy they leave behind. They have played such a big role in my life! I am forever grateful!

Thank You Grandma!!! I LOVE YOU!!!
